Bajhang Masta RM 28-30 Nov 2025
Sahara Nepal Bajhang, with the support of Swaloz Finland, successfully conducted a skill-based nutritious food preparation training for women farmers from Wards 3 to 7 of Masta Rural Municipality.

The training aimed to promote nutrition, health improvement, and income generation by utilizing locally available crops and agricultural products. During the training, participants learned both theoretical and practical skills in preparing a variety of nutritious dishes, including millet pancakes, maize–millet biscuits, pumpkin halwa, potato-based recipes, and other locally sourced food items.

The training was facilitated by Mr. Gorkhabahadur Khadka, who guided participants through practical cooking sessions. Speaking at the program, Ms. Shushila Kathayat, Treasurer of Sahara Nepal, emphasized the importance of applying these skills not only for improving household nutrition but also for developing marketable products and income-generating opportunities.

The program witnessed active participation from local representatives, municipal staff, women farmer groups, and Sahara Nepal officials, reflecting strong community engagement.
The training is expected to contribute significantly to women’s capacity development, promotion of local and nutritious food practices, and the creation of sustainable livelihood opportunities within Masta Rural Municipality.
