Poultry Shed Construction and Distribution of Local Chicken Chicks Completed

Under the Improved Food Security, Sustainable Livelihoods, and Empowerment of Women Project implemented by Sahara Nepal Bajhang with financial support from Swallows of Finland, a poultry shed construction and chick distribution program was successfully completed in Masta Rural Municipality, Ward No. 7, Thakunna.

As part of the program, a poultry shed was constructed and 100 local breed chicken chicks were distributed to the family of Ms. Jayanti Bohara, a poor and marginalized farmer of the area, with the objective of promoting poultry farming as a sustainable livelihood option.

The program is expected to contribute to increased household income, improved nutrition, and strengthened sustainable livelihoods of the beneficiary family. Sahara Nepal Bajhang has stated that similar support programs will be continued in the future to promote economic and social empowerment of targeted communities.
